Finding a breakfast that is low in sugar for the family is not an easy task. I always worry about how much sugar Wyatt is ingesting before he heads of to school. Well, U.S. Mills has answered my concerns with their Uncle Sam's Original Cereal.

Uncle Sam's Original Cereal is a high fiber cereal and is made from a unique blend of toasted whole grain wheat flakes and flaxseed. Each bowl is full of powerful, heart healthy ALA Omega-3's from flaxseed, is low sodium and low sugar (with less than 1g sugars). Both Everday Lotions are also really good. I have been using the face lotion on Wyatt mostly, but have also taken my turn trying it out. I find that both product leave my skin moisturized without being greasy and has not caused any breakouts on either of us. I would purchase any of these items for my family and think that Eucerin focuses on sensitive skin which is a huge must for my household.

With Blake quickly outgrowing his current car seat, we went on the hunt for a new one. I had remembered seeing the New Complete Air Car Seat on display at BlogHer, so we did some research on this seat and this is what we found out.

Safety 1st was nice enough to send us a Complete Air Car Seat to try in Harvest to review. First of all, I love the color, especially the brown on the headrest, which won't show sweat stains. I was impressed with how easy this seat was to install in the forward facing position. My favorite feature is the Quick Fit Harness system, which is awesome for fast growing babies! Blake really likes his new seat and here he is showing it off.

There are a few things that I recommend to Safety 1st for this seat. First, I would like for their to be either an elastic strap or Velcro to hold the straps when baby is removed from the seat. Second, I would like the bottom piece to Velcro in, as I found that it moves to easily from its position. And, lastly I would like the seat to come with strap covers for the neck area that would match the seat.

Overall, we are very pleased with the seat, and the suggestions that I have are for mostly cosmetic and ease of use reasons. I would recommend this seat to others and love that it actually accommodates kids till they are 50lbs as mine seem to hit that weight early.

Review: Word World

Word World is a series on PBS Kids that takes learning to read and spell to a whole new level. This show challenges kids to build words, learn what these words mean, and how they sound. Word World does this through a fun cast of characters that are actually words. If I am confusing you, look below to see what I mean.LOL

Aren't they super cute!! Wyatt absolutely loves this show, and with him just starting to read on his own, it has been wonderful to watch him sound out the words when viewing this program.

NCirlce Entertainment was nice enough to send us a copy of the Word World: Lots of Letters! Box Set Collection to review. Wyatt has watched both discs multiple times already, and he even chose it for movie night last week! In our house that is a huge honor.LOL I think this might be his new favorite show and PIG and ANT are his two favorite characters.

Word World: Lots of Letters! Box Set Collection was just released on September 29th and is a two disc set, which has a running time of 3 hours! This set includes the following episodes: Join the Word Friends for three hours of learning fun! This set includes 16 episodes full of Word World fun! We are huge Halloween and movie fans at my house! Therefore, we spend the month of October watching fun Halloween movies, and are always on the lookout for some new ones. When they contain some of the boys favorite characters, it is like hitting the jackpot.LOL

The Nick Jr. hit TV series, Wow Wow Wubbzy, is now starring in a family friendly Halloween DVD! From Netflix:

Bridgette from The Not-So-Blog go the opportunity to review this video out, and here is what she thought. Both of my daughters (ages 4 and 18 months) loved this program! The story is engaging, the songs made them get up and dance, and the colors kept Aubrie's attention just about the whole time. If your kids love Wow! Wow! Wubbzy, you should head over to Nick Jr. and print out a Trick-or-Treat iron on or even a Halloween decal!

Planning a Ski Vacation

Living here in the south, snow is something of a rare occasion. I have only been skiing once, and I must admit that it was not a pretty site. I think even the instructor was at a loss for words and my husband was a little embarrassed to say the least.LOL

But, as the kids get older, I would love to be able to take them on a ski holiday. It would be so much fun just to watch them play in the snow, you know the kind that lasts more than five minutes. And, I think it would be a great way to spend some quality family time together. Think about sitting in front of a fire with your family while the snow is falling outside, just like in the movies. Yes, I really have no experience with snow.LOL But, since Blake has just turned one, I think we will have to wait a few more years before I try this out, but it is definitely on our list to do!

With so many different locations available for ski holidays, you could pick anywhere in the world to go and see. I would love to check out some ski sites in Europe, since I have never been there. Where would you like to go skiing?

Avon was nice enough to send me a few of their fall must haves to try out. I received an awesome tote, that is large enough to fit my laptop! A beautiful scarf and two rings. Here is a picture of my items.

The bag is my favorite of the bunch. I love the color and stud detail! It also has two separate inside compartments, and a couple of zipper compartments, plus a couple of pockets to stash your goodies. There is so much space in this bag that it could probably due double duty as a purse and diaper bag.

The scarf is soft and stylish, and the colors are beautiful blend of reds, pinks, purples, and grays. I would recommend it more as an accessory rather than being used for warmth. All the edges have been nicely ended to prevent frays.

The two rings that I got are great fall colors. One is tiger eye in a brass setting and the other is a bright turquoise disco ring. While both are larger than what I usually wear, I am hoping for a night out soon to put them to use.

We decided to start with Candy Land, since Operation needed batteries. Wyatt really liked this new Sweet Celebration version, especially since he could design the board. I would suggest popping all the pieces out the night before, because it took around 40 minutes for my husband to assemble the game. Also, we were not exactly sure of all the rules, but that did not take any of the fun away.

Spongebob Operation is a new twist on an old classic. I remember loving this game as a child and Wyatt thinks it is super fun. The fact that he loves Spongebob didn't hurt either.LOL

In case you need a reason for a Family Game Night, check out Wyatt when he played Spongebob Operation for the first time. The jump is so priceless.LOL

Review: Arnold Sandwich Thins

I have told you all before how much I like the texture and flavor of Arnold Bread. That is why I was so happy to hear that they were adding a new product to their line. Well, not just a new product, but a 100 Calorie product!

Arnold's new Sandwich Thins are a great way to enjoy artisan flavors without the calories. They are available in multi-grain and whole wheat varieties. And, they contain no high fructose corn syrup and are cholesterol free.

When something is this good for you, my first thought is always, well how does it taste. Arnold was nice enough to send me both varieties of sandwich thins to try and I must admit they are delicious!

Wyatt wore nothing by Stride Rite when he was growing up and Blake is now on his second pair. The quality and selection of their shoes is why I am a repeat customer, not to mention that Stride Rite is one of the only brands that makes shoes in an extra wide width. "The Zula Patrol” is a popular animated science-and-astronomy series for kids that airs Saturday mornings nationally on NBC. It features a gang of lovably wacky alien characters, who help teach kids interesting facts about science and astronomy.

We received two DVDs to review, "The Zula Patrol: Animal Adventures in Space” and “The Zula Patrol: Moons Mayhem”. Wyatt is really enjoying these new DVDs, and I love the educational feature of them. The Zula Patrol makes learning fun for kids, by using adventures to help them learn. Since watching the first DVD, Wyatt has asked to watch the second, and he now waits for the show to come on Qubo. I think this is definately a new favorite in our house.

Here is a little information about the DVDs.

The Zula Patrol: Moons Mayhem follows the intrepid team from Zula in six humor-filled stories that begin with a challenge, and end with a resolution, as they explore the fascinating, often volatile world of moons. In Larvae or Leave Me (the first episode), Skip the grasshopper can’t find his friend Wriggly the caterpillar – until he discovers, with help from The Zula Patrol, that Wriggly has transformed into a beautiful butterfly! Four additional stories on the DVD are: Egg Hunt, There Goes the Neighborhood, Choosing Sides and Camp Worm. Blake was never fond of the pacifier, but a snuggler is a whole different story. He uses them for comfort, play, and a teething toy. It started out with his burp rags, but we then upgraded to brother's old snuggler.

It was definately time to find Blake a special snuggler of his very own. Thanks to Douglas Plush Toys' nice selection of Lil' Snugglers to choose from, we found the perfect one. Douglas Plush Toys was nice enough to send me a German Pointer Lil' Snuggler to review. This snuggler is super cute and soft! I love the puppy's sweet facial expression! Here is Blake all tucked in with his puppy.

Their Lil' Snugglers are the perfect size for toddlers. They are super soft and I love the knots at the feet, which are great for teething babies. Here is a picture of the snuggler by itself, so you can see some of the detail, including the size and satin trim.

Both of my boys love fresh fruit, but I only get to the store once a week, so I have to stock up while I am there. But, I get so frustrated with how quickly my fruits and vegtables spoil. That was until I found Peak Fresh.

Review: Office Max Makes Back to School Fun

Nothing seems to get Wyatt more excited about starting school, than shopping for his new supplies. From the uniforms to the backpacks, it is a grand adventure. He must get this from me, because I was the same way, especially about pens and notebooks.

If you little one is like mine, you must check out what Office Max has to offer. Their Schoolio-Von-Hoolio line is not only fun, but will not break the bank, and is sure to get the kids ready.

Office Max was nice enough to send me some samples of this line to review. I also got to participate in a special blogcast with organization expert Peter Walsh, who shared some tips on how to get you and your little ones ready for the new school year.

Here is a picture of what I received.

I was impressed by how bright and cute all the supplies were, but also how functional. My six year old nieces had a great time dividing the supplies up between them. I only wish that there was more boy choices available.

Peter Walsh gave some great advice during the blogcast, and here are my favorite tips:
-Be sure to establish routine with you kids, including getting their clothes and backpacks ready to go the night before.
-Regularly clean out their backpacks and binders, ideally once a week.
-Involve your children in the organization.
-Keep an organized and uncluttered space for your children to use for homework.

All of these tips will cut down on stress levels for you and your kids, which will make everyday life much easier, just like shopping at Office Max for your school supplies.

Halloween According to Wyatt

We LOVE Halloween at our house, I think it might be our favorite holiday. So we began discussing costumes the other day.

We asked Wyatt what he wants to be this year and he said "Shaggy from Scooby-Doo". My first thought is, should I be worried that my four year old wants to be the stoner of the bunch? Then, I decide that it is just because he is the silly one, so it is harmless. But, when I went searching for the costume, this is what is available.

After laughing for about 20 minutes, I catch my breath, call my husband to make him look at the costume, and then laugh for another 10 minutes. Seriously, when did Shaggy develop an afro?

The best part is, Wyatt wants the whole family to join in. Blake will be Scooby, hubby will be Fred, and I get to be Daphne. I will be the plumpest Daphne ever!LOL But, check out the get-up my husband gets to strut around in. Could they have found someone with darker eyebrows to model this costume?

Don't worry, if we go through with these ensembles, I will definately be sharing the pics.

I have been pleased with the product, and find that I have plenty left in the container after using it nightly for a month.

Here is a nice close up of me after using this product for a few weeks. This picture is taken fresh out of the shower and after my nightly application of the emulsion.

I feel that I have less lines around my mouth and on my forehead. If only it would remove the dark circles under my eyes and then I could look less sleep deprived.LOL

Sid the Science Kid is an Emmy-nominated PBS series that is produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET-LA. To see what my family thinks of Sid, Click Here. The first two Sid the Science Kid DVDs were just released on August 4th. The DVDs "Change Happens" and "The Bug Club" each contain four episodes from the TV show. I love that Wyatt is so entertained by a show that is so educational, and teaches kids to figure out how and why things are the way they are.

Dive Olly Dive is an Emmy-nominated, 3D-animated underwater series that airs on PBS Sprout. This show not only teaches kids fascinating facts about ocean life, but also some important life lessons. Click Here to see what Wyatt thinks about Dive Olly Dive. "Ship Shape Sub" is the newest DVD release from Dive Olly Dive. This new DVD contains five episodes from the TV show.

Blake easily figured out how to make the car talk and the headlight light up, which I love. And, Wyatt enjoyed the riddles and playing with the suitcase, which is removable.

The car kept the boys entertained for a long while and they keep going back to play with the car. The one problem I forsee is that the boys will be fighting over this car.LOL

Review: Super Mario Bros and SONIC DVDs

Do you remember Super Mario Bros and SONIC the Hedgehog? I remember playing Super Mario Bros for hours when I was younger, so when the cartoons showed up in the mail the other day I was quite nostalgic. I am not sure who was more excited to watch them, my husband and I or Wyatt.LOL

We received Super Mario Bros: Super Show! Off the Map and Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog: Robots Attack for review from NCircle Entertainment.

Super Mario Bros: Super Show! Off the Map has a run time of 75 minutes and includes five original episodes. Wyatt really enjoyed these cartoons and watched the disc multiple times. This dvd retails for only $5.99 and can be purchased from NCircle Entertainment.

Wyatt enjoyed Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog: Robots Attack just as much as the Mario Bros. This disc has a run time of 88 minutes and includes 4 original episodes. This disc also retails for $5.99 and can also be purchase at NCircle Entertainment.

I was surprised by how much Wyatt really enjoyed these cartoons. We asked which was his favorite of the two, and he said "I like them both the same".LOL And, the best part is we had fun watching with him, which made for great family fun.

These dvds seem to have great appeal for all ages, including preschoolers, tweens, and Gen-Xers and NCircle Entertainment has a huge selection of both of these titles to choose from. These cartoons would be a great way to keep all the kids happy on a long road trip. So, stock up before all those holiday travels.

I may have told you all this before, but we are big yogurt eaters at my house. Both boys eat yogurt almost every day and I enjoy it a couple times a week. I almost always eat Yoplait, because I love the flavor choices and the texture of their light line, and they even offer their yummy yogurt in a Thick and Creamy texture.

Yoplait Thick and Creamy is so thick that you can write in it with a toothpick and it will hold the design, as pictured below.

I love that I can get the same great flavors in a creamier texture and Wyatt likes it to, because this yogurt is not as likely to fall off the spoon. This makes eating his yogurt a much easier and cleaner experience.

I prefer the Thick and Creamy in the light variety and it makes a great breakfast or the perfect afternoon snack. It helps to cure me of my sweet cravings.

Review: Imagination Movers

We are HUGE Movers' fans at my house and have been for a long time. They are from New Orleans, so we were jamming to their cds before they became the Disney sensation they are. If you do not know who the Imagination Movers are, (where have you been?LOL) I am here to tell you.

The Movers Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott Smitty Smith formed in 2003 when the group of New Orleans friends started writing songs together and testing them out on their own kids. The bands dynamic, high-energy shows and wide-ranging pop sensibilities (with a special nod to 1980s alt rock) made them an immediate hit at the local parks and childrens museums. Not even losing homes to Hurricane Katrina (during which Smitty served as a first responder) scuttled their dreams. After signing to Disney, the Movers released their label debut Juice Box Heroes in March 2008, and are now currently working on the second season of their Playhouse Disney show. Since its release, Juice Box Heroes has consistently ranked in the Top 10 on iTunes Childrens Music chart. National recognition includes a Parenting Magazine Parenting Pick, and Common Sense Media recently recognized the Imagination Movers among the Best TV of 2008, citing the quartets addictive sense of humor and quest for fun.

As a parent of a four year old, I can attest to the fact that the Movers can make him move. He jumps, dances, and sings along. The show is fun and keeps him very entertained.

The Imagination Movers just release a new CD titled "For Those About to Hop". With a quick wink at AC/DC in the title, the Movers keep their fans on their feet throughout the generous 22-song set. We were lucky enough to get the new CD to review and I am surprised that it still plays as my son requests it every morning in the car and we all rock out! They tunes are so catch and the lyrics are fun and creative.

An exclusive iTunes version of the release offers another set of five bonus songs and is available this week. All versions include downloadable lyrics and a coloring sheet, along with an interactive game featuring the TV shows popular puppet character Warehouse Mouse.

Review: Gerber 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal

As Blake got older, he was getting bored with his same old breakfast choices, rice cereal or oatmeal. That was until we tried Gerber's NEW 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal. Not only does it contain 8 grains, but is also made with real yogurt and contains Live and Active Cultures.

This new cereal option is a great source of iron for infants, which support baby's healthy mental development. And, this cereal contains no artificial colors or flavors. I like to mix Blake's cereal with formula and then add fruit. I was impressed with how creamy this cereal was once blended. I did find that you had to work out a few clumps, but they mashed out easy enough. Here is what the cereal looks like after I mixed it with formula and fruit.

Now, I will admit that Blake is not a picky eater, but he does really like this new cereal. Here he is enjoying it for breakfast.
I don't know if you can tell, but I think he was really enjoying breakfast that morning.LOL

My only complaint is that Gerber did not come out with this new cereal sooner! I would definitely recommend this product to moms and would purchase again if we had not started table food.

By now, you may have figured out the I am a LITTLE OCD. LOL I feel like I am constantly cleaning and picking up after the boys, probably because I am, but I am always a little concerned about what the baby does with things after I clean them. Review: Combi Zeus Turn Convertible Car Seat

As we all know, car seats are not always the easiest things to work, especially with wiggly babies. That is why I was so intrigued by the Zeus Turn Car Seat by Combi. This convertable car seat designed to rotate 360 degrees without re-installation. Yes, this means that you can swivel it out to put baby in and then just turn it to the position you need!!

The Zeus Turn is designed to accommodate children up to 33 pounds when rear-facing and 40 pounds when forward-facing. It offers a 5-point harness with padding, Tru-Safe® Side Impact Protection (EPS), Tru-Safe® Buckle with red/green indicator, built-in lock-offs, anti-rebound base, 2-position recline and 3-position height adjustments. And, the fabric is removable and machine washable, which is a must in my house.

Combi was nice enough to send me a Zeus Turn to review, and I was highly impressed. We were strictly a Britax family, as I had bought 3 different ones for my oldest son, and was very happy with the brand. But, I must say the Zeus Turn won me over. It is so easy to use, and when you are hefting a 28 pound baby into a car seat, the swivel makes a huge difference!

There are many features on this seat that make is great, in addition to the rotation. I love that the buckle is all plastic coated, because here in the south, they get super hot in the summer and can really burn. I also the the head rest, it is has extra cushion and allows for comfortable naps while in the car. The buckle also turns green when properly closed, which lets you know that your child is snapped in.

I would definitely recommend this seat to new parents or anyone looking to replace the seat they have. The Zeus Turn can be purchased online at Babies R Us and retails for $299.99.

Combi continues to release innovative products which are all designed “to create a world where people can enjoy and feel happy about childcare”. And, since the Zeus Turn has made getting Blake into his car seat a much easier task, I think that they have accomplished their goal with this seat.

I have been on the lookout for some new breakfast options for Wyatt, and healthier would be great. His current favorite is Chocolate Cookie Dough Pop-Tarts, thanks to my sister.
