Review: Avon's Ultimate Night Gold Emulsion

I don't know about the rest of you, but the kids have taken a toll on my appearance. From the gray hairs to the extra lines on my face. That is why I am always up for trying a new product if it claims that it will make me look younger. What, are you not that vain.LOL

Avon has come out with a new product called Ultimate Night Gold Emulsion, which claims that it can make you look 5 years younger in 14 days or you can get your money back. This emulsion is a rare skin-strengthening fusion of patented Pro-Sirtuin TX, which formulated to stimulate sirtuin youth proteins for healthier cells, and activate remodeling proteins to help restructure and strengthen skin, and Gold Polypeptide technologies, which is engineered to help replenish skin's moisture reserves and maintain its youthful structure.
Avon was nice enough to send me a sample of the Ulitmate Night Gold Emulsion to try. The first night I used it, I felt a light tingle after applying, but it quickly went away. I could feel my skin tightening after the first few uses. It leaves my fingers a little sticky after I apply, but it washes off easily. I have been pleased with the product, and find that I have plenty left in the container after using it nightly for a month.
Here is a nice close up of me after using this product for a few weeks. This picture is taken fresh out of the shower and after my nightly application of the emulsion.

I feel that I have less lines around my mouth and on my forehead. If only it would remove the dark circles under my eyes and then I could look less sleep deprived.LOL

If you would like to try this new product, you can purchase it at Avon.com and it retails for only $34.00. I think the bottle of emulsion would last for around 6 months.

Review: Super Mario Bros and SONIC DVDs

Do you remember Super Mario Bros and SONIC the Hedgehog? I remember playing Super Mario Bros for hours when I was younger, so when the cartoons showed up in the mail the other day I was quite nostalgic. I am not sure who was more excited to watch them, my husband and I or Wyatt.LOL

Super Mario Bros: Super Show! Off the Map has a run time of 75 minutes and includes five original episodes. Wyatt really enjoyed these cartoons and watched the disc multiple times. This dvd retails for only $5.99 and can be purchased from NCircle Entertainment.

Wyatt enjoyed Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog: Robots Attack just as much as the Mario Bros. This disc has a run time of 88 minutes and includes 4 original episodes. This disc also retails for $5.99 and can also be purchase at NCircle Entertainment.
I was surprised by how much Wyatt really enjoyed these cartoons. We asked which was his favorite of the two, and he said "I like them both the same".LOL And, the best part is we had fun watching with him, which made for great family fun.

These dvds seem to have great appeal for all ages, including preschoolers, tweens, and Gen-Xers and NCircle Entertainment has a huge selection of both of these titles to choose from. These cartoons would be a great way to keep all the kids happy on a long road trip. So, stock up before all those holiday travels.

Review and Giveaway: Yoplait Thick and Creamy CLOSED

I may have told you all this before, but we are big yogurt eaters at my house. Both boys eat yogurt almost every day and I enjoy it a couple times a week. I almost always eat Yoplait, because I love the flavor choices and the texture of their light line, and they even offer their yummy yogurt in a Thick and Creamy texture.

Yoplait Thick and Creamy is so thick that you can write in it with a toothpick and it will hold the design, as pictured below.

I love that I can get the same great flavors in a creamier texture and Wyatt likes it to, because this yogurt is not as likely to fall off the spoon. This makes eating his yogurt a much easier and cleaner experience.

I prefer the Thick and Creamy in the light variety and it makes a great breakfast or the perfect afternoon snack. It helps to cure me of my sweet cravings.

Would you like to try Yoplait's Thick and Creamy yogurt? Well I have great news for TWO lucky readers! They will receive a gift basket (pictured below) containing chic stationary, a stylish pen - and of course a free coupon for any flavor of Yoplait Thick & Creamy. To enter, just follow the rules below.

How to Enter:
1) Visit Yoplait and tell me which flavor yogurt you would try with your coupon.

Review: Imagination Movers

We are HUGE Movers' fans at my house and have been for a long time. They are from New Orleans, so we were jamming to their cds before they became the Disney sensation they are. If you do not know who the Imagination Movers are, (where have you been?LOL) I am here to tell you.

The Movers Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott Smitty Smith formed in 2003 when the group of New Orleans friends started writing songs together and testing them out on their own kids. The bands dynamic, high-energy shows and wide-ranging pop sensibilities (with a special nod to 1980s alt rock) made them an immediate hit at the local parks and childrens museums. Not even losing homes to Hurricane Katrina (during which Smitty served as a first responder) scuttled their dreams. After signing to Disney, the Movers released their label debut Juice Box Heroes in March 2008, and are now currently working on the second season of their Playhouse Disney show. Since its release, Juice Box Heroes has consistently ranked in the Top 10 on iTunes Childrens Music chart. National recognition includes a Parenting Magazine Parenting Pick, and Common Sense Media recently recognized the Imagination Movers among the Best TV of 2008, citing the quartets addictive sense of humor and quest for fun.

As a parent of a four year old, I can attest to the fact that the Movers can make him move. He jumps, dances, and sings along. The show is fun and keeps him very entertained.

The Imagination Movers just release a new CD titled "For Those About to Hop". With a quick wink at AC/DC in the title, the Movers keep their fans on their feet throughout the generous 22-song set. Show favorite Jungle Room is a swinging, horn-drenched musical safari, while tunes like Now Were Cooking, Paint the Day Away and Playing Catch are equal parts funk, hip-hop and sing-along rock, with infectious beats and typically catchy lyrics that celebrate learning, growing and fun. Fans of the show will recognize set pieces from the Movers brainstorming adventures in the Idea Warehouse, but these songs all stand on their own as bright, finely crafted kid pop tunes.

We were lucky enough to get the new CD to review and I am surprised that it still plays as my son requests it every morning in the car and we all rock out! They tunes are so catch and the lyrics are fun and creative.

The track included in the new CD are:
1. Mover Music (Jump Up!)
2. Now Were Cooking
3. Jungle Room
4. Boom Boom Song
5. Ninas Song
6. We Can Work Together
7. Playing Catch
8. Buckets and Cans
9. Mother In You
10. Rollin
11. Gust of Wind
12. Brainstorming
13. Boing Cluck Cluck
14. Paint the Day Away
15. Sunblock
16. Gotcha
17. Fix It Up
18. Sleeping Bag
19. Try Again
20. Get Up
21. Recipe (Stir It Up)
22. Imagination Movers Theme Song

Wyatt's favorites are Boing Cluck Cluck and Nina's Song, which I also like. It is so cute to see him singing along in the back seat and I find myself singing them throughout the day at work.LOL

A special release of For Those About to Hop is currently available at Target stores nationwide and includes five bonus tracks. An exclusive iTunes version of the release offers another set of five bonus songs and is available this week. All versions include downloadable lyrics and a coloring sheet, along with an interactive game featuring the TV shows popular puppet character Warehouse Mouse.

If you are in search of something fun and stimulating for your kids, definitely check out the Movers!

And, they are getting ready for their first-ever U.S. concert theater tour. The “Live From The Idea Warehouse Tour” kicks off October 10 in Shreveport, Louisiana and winds up December 13 in Spokane, Washington. Click Here to see if the Imagination Movers are playing in a city near you and for ticket prices and more.

We already have our tickets for the show here, but I will warn you that they sold out the Arena in less than one week, so get your tickets fast. They are super fun live and put on a very energetic show. We were lucky enough to catch them at Jazz Fest this year and Wyatt still talks about how we saw the Movers.

Giveaway: Philosophy Gives to Cookies for Kids' Cancer CLOSED

Every now and again I get the chance to share great news with my readers and this definitely fits the bill. Philosophy has teamed up with Cookies for Kids' Cancer, which is an organization created to raise awareness of and funds to support research for new and improved therapies for pediatric cancer through the concept of hosting local bake sales.

Cancer remains the #1 disease that claims the lives of our childrens! And, each year cancer kills more children under the age of 18 than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined. For more information on Cookies for Kids Cancer please click here: http://www.cookiesforkidscancer.org/.

Here are some facts about Pediatric Cancer:

-Pediatric cancer is referred to as an “orphan disease” because there is little or no profit to be made by the pharmaceutical companies and the reason why they ignore pediatric cancers for the most part.

-Each year in the U.S., nearly 13,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. That’s the equivalent of two average size classrooms diagnosed each school day.

-Today about 75% of children diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors yet in the U.S. cancer remains the leading cause of death from one year through adolescence; more than any other disease. In the early 1950s, less than 10 percent of childhood cancer patients could be cured, proof that research can and is making a difference.

-Historically, some of the most basic and essential treatment strategies now employed in the fight against cancer – such as multi-agent chemotherapy and combined modality therapy – were developed through pediatric cancer research.

-In the U.S., combined, the cancers of children, adolescents and young adults to age 20 are the sixth most common cancer in the U.S.

-Recent reports indicate that nearly two-thirds of childhood cancer survivors experience significant medical problems resulting from their original cancer and/or its treatment.

Now that you have read all this information, I know you are thinking, how can I help? Well, Philosophy has made this easier than you think.

From now until October 15, 2009, Philosophy will donate 100% of the net proceeds of their Oatmeal Raisin high foaming shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. You read right, you not only get a yummy smelling Philosophy shower gel, but you get to help out a great cause.

To purchase your own bottle of Oatmeal Raisin Shower Gel visit Philosophy.com and pick up a few extra bottles, because they make great gifts! A 16 ounce bottle of shower gel retails for $16 and is sure to offer you many relaxing baths.

To help kick off this great partnership, Philosophy is giving TWO lucky readers their very own bottle of Oatmeal Raisin Shower Gel, trust me you will not want to share. To enter, just follow the rules below.

Review: Gerber 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal

As Blake got older, he was getting bored with his same old breakfast choices, rice cereal or oatmeal. That was until we tried Gerber's NEW 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal. Not only does it contain 8 grains, but is also made with real yogurt and contains Live and Active Cultures.

This new cereal option is a great source of iron for infants, which support baby's healthy mental development. And, this cereal contains no artificial colors or flavors. I like to mix Blake's cereal with formula and then add fruit. I was impressed with how creamy this cereal was once blended. I did find that you had to work out a few clumps, but they mashed out easy enough. Here is what the cereal looks like after I mixed it with formula and fruit.

Now, I will admit that Blake is not a picky eater, but he does really like this new cereal. Here he is enjoying it for breakfast.
I don't know if you can tell, but I think he was really enjoying breakfast that morning.LOL

My only complaint is that Gerber did not come out with this new cereal sooner! I would definitely recommend this product to moms and would purchase again if we had not started table food.

Review and Giveaway: Seventh Generation CLOSED

By now, you may have figured out the I am a LITTLE OCD. LOL I feel like I am constantly cleaning and picking up after the boys, probably because I am, but I am always a little concerned about what the baby does with things after I clean them. I know what he does, he shoves everything in his mouth. This is why I was so excited when I heard about Seventh Generation.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Seventh Generation, here is a little bit about the company from their site: Seventh Generation brand-name products include: non-chlorine bleached, 100% recycled paper towels, bathroom and facial tissues, and napkins; non-toxic, phosphate-free cleaning, dish and laundry products; plastic trash bags made from recycled plastic; chlorine-free baby diapers, training pants, and baby wipes; and chlorine-free feminine care products, including organic cotton tampons. And, they donate 10% of their profits to non-profit community, environmental, health, and responsible business organizations working for positive change. Talk about a "socially responsible" company!

Seventh Generation was nice enough to send me Living Home Starter Kit to try. It included: Glass Cleaner - Grapefruit, All-Purpose Cleaner - Green Mandarin, Toilet Bowl Cleaner - Emerald, Shower Cleaner - Green Mandarin, Tub & Tile Cleaner, Kitchen Cleaner, (2) Natural Paper Towels - 120 Count, and a Reusable Tote.

For being non-toxic, let me say these cleaners work great! I am already about half way through the kitchen cleaner and I love that I feel safe using it on Blake's high chair tray. And trust me, if it can clean that tray, it can clean anything!LOL All the cleaners I received, leave the house smelling really good and clean, especially the tub and tile cleaner, which smells like emerald cypress and fir. You will not miss your old chemical ridden cleaners!

I am really happy that I had this opportunity to try these cleaners, and feel great that they lack harsh chemicals. Add this to my list, to one more thing that I am doing to help the environment. Seventh Generation also carries a full baby line!

Want to try some Seventh Generation cleaning supplies, well they have offered one lucky reader their very own Living Home Starter Kit, which contains all the items listed above in the kit I received. To enter, just follow the rules below.
